Gloria Petyarre

Nascida em 1945, Gloria Petyarre é uma das mais importantes artistas aborígenes:
"Gloria Tamerre Pitjara (Gloria Petyarre) embarked on her career some twenty five years ago and is a Utopia based Aboriginal artist. Like all the women artists at Utopia, she began by making batik works. In 1984 she switched from painting batik designs on silk to painting with acrylics on canvas. Utopia is some 300kms north-east of Alice Springs. The painting style from this area is commonly described as 'central desert' painting and is one of the most famous Aboriginal painting groups in the world." (daqui)
