Brown nosing, David Cerny in the Futura, Center for Contemporary Arts in Prague.
Inside the hole, a clip of two old men, one feeding the other, and the Queen song, "We are the Champions".
The entrance to the Futura Center.
When I saw Cerny's work, I though this piece deserved a better place. The Futura Center for contemporary Art is a great location, I really enjoyed going there, but it is not a mainstream place, and it certainly doesn't seem to be attended by many locals. It made me think Czech arts have a way to go, still away from consummerism but also far from recognition. Where would this same piece be in London? The artists are there, though, Prague is full of creative drive. David Cerny may well be at the eye of this storm. (to go)
