não é truque, é mesmo isto

how to care for rugs

when the rug is new
- it is perfectly normal that a rug contains wool sheds, particularly when it is new.
- if yarn loosens, cut it with scissors, never try to pull it away.

cleaning
- vacuum the rug at regular intervals.
- to keep the rug in a good shape, vacuum in the pile direction. pass your hand over the rug - if the pile rises and feels rough, then you're stroking against the pile direction.
- if the rug gets a spot of dirt, try to remove it as soon as possible. vacuum and wipe as much as you can of the spot. Do not rub, because if you do, the spot can spread and penetrate deeper into the rug. moreover, the pile can get damaged. if you fail to remove the spot, leave it to a professional carpet cleaner.
- shake and hang the rug outdoors for airing a few times per year.
- a rug that is in normal use should be cleaned by a professional carpet cleaner once or twice a year.
- before storing the rug away, clean it and, when it's dry, roll it up. wrap the rug in fabric, paper or other material that breathes, do not use plastic. store the rug in a cool, dry place.

good to know
- rotate the rug from time to time to reduce wear and the risk of fading in sunlight.
- do not place heavy furniture on the rug. if the rug gets impression marks, these can be removed with water, using a soft brush.
- preferably, use anti-slip underlay under the whole rug. besides preventing people from slipping, the anti-slip underlay keeps the rug firmly in place making it easier to vacuum and, as the rug stays put, the wear and tear is reduced.
