The world's most popular free online dictionary with definitions, spell check, word origins, example sentences, audio pronunciations, Word of the Day and more!

Google Translate (Free)
Translate words and phrases between more than 60 languages.  Helps students and parents build vocabulary.

Mad Libs(Free)
Great for reviewing parts of speech while creating a silly story.  Practice using nouns, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, verbs, and other parts of speech learned in class!

Spelling City (Free)
The VocabularySpellingCity app has word games, vocabulary games, and spelling games from the popular SpellingCity.  Students can study and learn their word lists using vocabulary and spelling learning activities and games.

Story Kit (Free)
Create an electronic story book by writing text, and either drawing on the screen or using your own photos. Record sound effects too!

Super Hangman LE & Global High Scores (Free)
Fairly standard Hangman app, with good graphics

ICDL Books for Children (Free)
Thousands of children’s books from different countries in various languages with illustrations.

Toontastic ($1.99)
Toontastic explains the elements of a story arc, breaking it down into segments that are manageable for any user. Characters can be placed in the scene from the Toontastic library, or make your own. To "animate", simply record the story by moving the characters while talking!

Comic Life ($4.99)
Create comic books from your own photos; share by email or Facebook.

Kiwa Qbooks (Free)
Books with professional voice recording and text highlighting, the option to record your own version of the text, and coloring pages.  Many different titles.

Palavraz (Free)
This word-building game is entirely in Portuguese!  It will help students string letters together to build three-or-more letter words in a fun, timed game.  Students can play “Treino” or live (with internet connection) to see their score in comparison to other anonymous players.  (No interaction with online players aside from seeing scores posted.)

Words with Friends (Free)
In this game, students use a crossword-like board to create words and earn points.  This is a two-player game that can be played over the internet with a friend, or live by passing the iPod back and forth.

BrainPOP Featured Movie (Free)
BrainPop movies teach kids different each day in a variety of subjects, and include quizzes.  This is a light version of the BrainPOP website available through the school.

Math and Critical Thinking Development

TanZen (Free)
TanZen is a puzzle game. This game is a classic tangram – rearranging seven specific blocks to create different pictures.  It’s very relaxing, and promotes critical thinking skills.  Fun for all ages!

MoveIt (Free)
Move it! is a brand new block sliding puzzle game in which players must slide different shaped blocks in order to release the square red block from the puzzle.  It’s challenging, but promotes important critical thinking skills in players.

Sneezies (Free)
Touch the screen to drop a burst of sneezing powder into the field of floating Sneezies and watch as they sneeze themselves out of their bubbles. Try to initiate a chain reaction to rescue as many Sneezies as you can in this family fun puzzle game.

Cut the Rope (Free)
The little monster Om Nom is hungry and the only thing standing between him and a full belly is you – that is your help cutting the ropes that hold the candy he wants. Swipe your finger across the ropes to release the delicious bundles into his mouth. But don’t forget to collect the stars and break the bubbles along the way – easier said than done when enemies and obstacles await!

Number Munchers (Free)
Number Munchers is the classic educational math game in which you, as a number muncher, aim to eat all of the tasty correct answers on the math board while trying to avoid getting eaten by hungry troggles.

Multiplication Genius (Free)
Help your kids to master 12 Times Table! Practice mode help your kids practice multiplication step by step, they can choose which Time Tables they want to practice.

Match Lite (Free)
Match the tiles on the screen, for example, 9 and 7 + 2. Great for reinforcing basic skills. It also times you completing each board.

This game has you put fractions, decimals, and percentages in order. Great for kids new to these concepts.
