I wonder. you know someone's life story, how fast they read, what they've read so far, the books closer to their hearts (half a life there already), and a glimpse of their aspirations but also of their failures and regrets, you know why they read and there is empathy between yourself and that person. and then you start drawing a recommended list of reads only to find, book by book, that you are uncovering your friend's most intimate self.
