"Cascais has a very heterogenous population, with many nationalities (118) and identities, where immigration is a rising phenomenon with demographical, economical, social and cultural relevance. According to SEF data (2013), there are 20124 immigrants registered in Cascais, which corresponds to 10% of the population, with a specific reality: there are immigrants with high academic degrees and, therefore, a high socioeconomical level; and there are immigrants with no or little educational background and that are in a low socioeconomical level. The resident immigrants are in working age."
