Muniz began to produce images with perishable materials, since their transitory nature seemed to justify documenting them. Many of these materials were edible, and he found himself attracted to those which had a painterly quality, such as ketchup, peanut butter and jelly.
And Warhol's work fitted perfectly with Muniz's experiments with these materials. It was Warhol, after all, who demonstrated that a copy of a copy is always an original."
